From Fear to Freedom: My Ayesha Moment and What It Taught Me About Life

Alright, while my emotions were still running high, 12 hours of sleep and a gratitude meditation finally got me back into clarity mode, so I can share what really happened for me yesterday.

I did my very first, very brief Ayesha hold—and that’s a huge milestone for me!

I started conditioning for it back in February, taking small, deliberate steps to build confidence in releasing contact points while being upside down. Each tiny success mattered, but progress isn’t always linear.

Then, an injury threw everything off course. It didn’t just slow me down—it pushed me into a completely different timeline. What was supposed to be three months of recovery stretched to 4.5 months, because I couldn’t load my right wrist the way I used to.

The first glimmer of success came in July, when I was in Bali. I felt the balance. I felt the strength. Physically, I was ready. My body was telling me, You’ve got this.

But sometimes, it’s not just the physical that gets in the way. Mental and emotional blocks can hold us back, even when our bodies are fully capable. And that was my reality—I had more work to do beyond the physical. For another three months, I chipped away at those invisible barriers, one by one.

This is where my role as a coach really shines. I had to coach myself through the doubts and resistance that were keeping me stuck. Every time fear crept in—fear of re-injury, fear of failure—I used my tools to ground myself, to push forward. And bit by bit, I built back not just my strength, but my belief in myself.

Yesterday, I knew it was time. I didn’t just hope or wish for it—I was certain. No doubts, no ‘maybe next time.’ I told myself: TODAY, I will do my Ayesha.

This isn’t the only big moment I’ve shared—another special one was watching my student’s success, which I’ve written about here:

Pole Dancing: When My Student’s Success Hit Me Harder Than My Own

And I did it. That brief, fleeting moment in the air—just a blink on video—felt like an hour to me. So many emotions and physical sensations flooded through me that I could barely name them. There were no thoughts in that moment, just feelings. And those feelings made it linger—it was pure, fearless certainty that what I had worked for was already mine.

That moment wasn’t just about pole dance—it was about life. Desire, inner obstacles, and breakthrough. It’s the same formula for anything we want to achieve. First, you identify what you truly want. Then, you confront the resistance—those inner voices that say, “Not yet” or “What if it goes wrong?” And finally, you make the breakthrough—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.

This experience reminded me that the work we do on ourselves is just as important as the action steps we take. Whether it’s a goal, a new habit, or something personal you’re working toward, it always comes back to the same process: awareness, intention, and trust.

It’s exactly what I help my clients with. Together, we uncover what’s holding them back, reconnect with what they truly want, and create small, intentional steps forward. Coaching isn’t just about reaching goals—it’s about building the mindset that keeps you moving, even when the obstacles seem too big.

Yesterday’s Ayesha wasn’t just a win for me on the pole—it was a reminder of the power we all have when we align our desires with belief, work through the resistance, and show up for ourselves fully.

So, what’s your “Ayesha”? What goal or desire has been sitting in your heart, waiting for you to say, “Today is the day”? Because that’s where the magic happens—not when everything feels perfect, but when you decide that what you want is already within your reach.
